Writing and Performing a One-Minute Monologue
Take us on a journey with your own short play! Each student will conceive, write and perform a one-minute original monologue. Our monologues will include an exploration of the essence of character and the who, what, where, when and why of your short scene. Our goals in this course include discovering and implementing the elements of clarity, feelings, plot, and conflict. Fun group exercises include writing prompts, visualization, creative expression, improvisation, vocal exercises and breath work. We will study successful short monologues and analyze what makes them work. Session includes a private one hour coaching session with the instructor before we launch our final monologues. During the last class, students will share their final, surprising performances!
